BTEC LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Ideally 4 GCSE’s and 1 “A” Level or similar academic qualification
An acceptable Massage Qualification OR
The ST School Introductory Course
Previous Qualifications are desirable but not necessary, we will consider applicants without qualification on discretion of our Director or senior tutors after attendance of the Introductory course
Minimum age for enrolment is 21 however we may accept younger applicants at discretion of our Director.
Course Details
Course qualification successful candidates will be issued with the nationally recognised BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy.
Tutorials
13 weekend workshops
26 tutorial days over approximately one year (often Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm, each about a month apart) combining theory and practical subjects with closely supervised classroom practice.
Contact tutorial hours 182 Hrs.
Course times are:
9.30 to 5.30 on Saturdays
and
9.30 to 4.30 on Sundays.
Assignments
4 written assignments. These can be done from anywhere using the ISRM online system.
The average student should allow 2-3 hours a week for home study. Special allowances are made for students whom first language is not English and for those students who needs further support.
Practice Hours
100 practice treatments outside the classroom (allow 2 or more hours a week).
3 Case Studies to be completed towards the end of the course.
Examinations
1 Theory exam and 1 Practical exam.
Additional Information
The ST School does not provide short intensive Diploma courses because we do strongly stand for quality of training which can only be achieved through timely learning and practising.
Students on a ISRM Diploma course will receive free ISRM student membership through which they can obtain student insurance to practice.
Professional Association Graduates can apply for the Institute of Sports & Remedial Massage membership (ISRM) and register with the Complementary and Natural Health Council (CNHC) which is the only Government backed Voluntary Regulator for our industry, however successful graduates are able to apply to join any other Professional Association.
