Outdoor Gait Analysis For Runners: Webinar with Matt Phillips
Online via Zoom
If you work with runners, at some point you will want to look at their running gait. However, not all of us have the space or money to put a suitable treadmill in our clinic. So, what are our options? Â
Join us for this online webinar ‘Outdoor Gait Analysis For Runners’ at 7.30pm on Wednesday January 8th 2025, in which Matt Phillips, creator of Runchatlive.com, will discuss how therapists who do not have a treadmill in clinic can still provide an evidence informed, results driven, outdoor gait analysis service for their running clients.
Topics that will be discussed:
• What data should we capture during an outdoor gait analysis, and why?
• What ways are there to capture the data? iPad? iPhone? Android?
• What software can we use to analyse the data? Free vs paid for options?
• How can gait analysis be used for injury prevention?
• How can gait analysis be used for injury rehabilitation?
• How can gait analysis be used to improve running performance?
This webinar will also serve as a useful introduction to our CPD course ‘Gait Analysis For Runners: A Modern Approach‘, in which Matt Phillips takes you through both indoor and outdoor options for gait analysis, with the goal of helping you design an evidence informed gait analysis service that suits YOUR business and YOUR clients, based on factors like your available space, budget and target audience. The course runs over three sessions, the first two being online mornings delivered by Matt online, and the last being a full day in person practical delivered at a host location in the UK. For a list of up & coming dates, visit our Course Calendar, or click here for the next Gait Course with practical day 3 in Manchester (UK).
Who Is The Webinar For?
This webinar will be of great value to any practitioner interested in starting up a Gait Analysis For Runners service, but does not currently have a treadmill in their clinic, including:
• Sports Massage Therapists
• Sports Therapists
• Soft Tissue Therapists
• Physiotherapists
• Chiropractors
• Osteopaths
Who Can Offer Gait Analysis?
Anyone with a Level 3 qualification or above is welcome to join the webinar, but attendees must be aware of their own personal scope of practice, as directed by their personal level of qualification. For example, to assess any injury, a minimum of Level 4 is required, so attendees without Level 4 would in theory be allowed to provide gait analysis as a means of offering symptom modification & support for a runner who has already been assessed for injury by a Level 4 therapist, and not be allowed to offer any form of clinical reasoning to identify the source of injury. Insurance providers will need to be made aware if this.
